Survivor Voices: This April, We Rise Together

There’s something powerful about knowing you’re not alone — and this month, survivors around the world are rising together.

Dear Survivor,

April holds deep meaning in our community — it’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and next week, we honor Denim Day — a movement that began as a protest against victim-blaming and has since become a symbol of solidarity with survivors everywhere.

But this month is more than a campaign.

It’s a reminder:

You are not what happened to you. You are what you choose to become after.

And every time you speak your truth, set a boundary, or refuse to be silenced — you are healing, not just for yourself, but for others walking the same path.

When I began supporting survivors, I heard a familiar fear repeated again and again: “What if no one believes me?” “What if I never feel like myself again?”

These fears are real. And so is the courage it takes to keep going anyway.

That’s what makes this month so important. It’s about visibility, yes. But it’s also about power — the power to reclaim your story, your peace, your future.

💡 Something to Reflect On: You don’t need to have everything figured out to be healing. You just need to keep choosing yourself.

If you’re still struggling to define the abuse, or feel confused about your own feelings — I invite you to download the Types of Abuse worksheet. It’s a compassionate tool to help you name what you’ve experienced, without judgment.

And if you’re ready to take a step further, the Recovery Roadmap is a powerful guide toward building a future that feels like yours again.

🧠 Denim Day is April 30 Wear denim. Start a conversation. Let someone know: “I see you. I believe you. Your story matters.”

Together, we’re shifting the culture. From silence to speaking up. From shame to empowerment.

You are part of that shift, just by being here.

Blessings and healing,

Catrina
